THE KIERA SKIRT ROAD TOUR
BY

I have had the pleasure of testing and sewing the Kiera skirt. Unlike any other skirt I have sewn or worn, this skirt has many options and with a twist, ribbons sewn underneath the skirt. Options include, two waist options, including a shirred back waist, a wide sash, and ribbons under neath the skirt. Many uses, a summer skirt, a fall skirt, a dance skirt, a belly dance skirt, use your imagination.

I at first was a tad bit skeptical of sewing the skirt when I saw the specs, I felt I wouldn't wear it, I have already worn it twice. I am so happy Ann Grose, from Designer Stitch, convinced me that this skirt would be fun to sew and wear, after all, she is the Designer and knows best. When I went looking for fabric, I wasn't sure what I was looking for. I found this beautiful crinkled woven fabric with a sheen, at Joann's.

My version of the Kiera skirt sewn with 8 gore panels together, a wide dropped down waist band, which is very flattering on the waist, and many ribbons sewn between the inside seams throughout. The ribbons when tied together, help shape the skirt any way you want, as shown in the picture below. I sewed a narrow sash, but has the option of a wider sash.

When left untied, the skirt will have a nice flowy look, as shown in the pictures below. Paired with my Kiera skirt is the Weekend Kat blouse, also from Designer Stitch.

The Kiera skirt can be made with many light woven fabrics, is fun to sew and wear, is figure flattering, and you too will enjoy creating your own vision of the Kiera skirt.

The Weekend Kat blouse shown with the Kiera skirt, is another Design Stitch pdf. Shown here with decorative rayon trim applied.

Thank you Ann Grose for another great and fun design,
